Abstract

The lack of effective communication media between schools and parents remains a major challenge in supporting optimal educational processes. This study aims to develop an interactive multimedia-based system that can be used by homeroom teachers, parents, and senior high school students as a two-way communication platform as well as a tool for monitoring student development. The system is designed as a web-based application to ensure accessibility through various internet-connected devices. The system development methodology includes user requirements analysis, system design using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), implementation using the PHP programming language and MySQL database, and functional testing employing the black-box testing method. The developed system provides key features such as user registration and authentication, student and parent data management, multimedia content uploading, interactive quiz creation and completion, and real-time messaging (chat) among users. The testing results indicate that all primary system functions operate according to the specified requirements, achieving a 100% functional success rate with no critical functional errors identified during the testing phase. The user interface is designed to be intuitive, enabling ease of use for all user groups involved. This study contributes a practical and integrated digital solution that enhances communication efficiency and promotes active and structured parental involvement in the student learning process.
