Open Access Policy

This journal is an open-access journal that provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the full text of all published articles without charge readers or their institutions for access. Readers have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all articles in the Melek IT: Information Technology Journal. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

  1. Editors first review the submitted manuscript, called the initial review by the editors. It will be desk evaluated whether the submitted manuscript is suitable for the Melek IT: Information Technology Journal based on focus and scope, similarity score by using Crosscheck-iThenticate, methodological flaw, readability of the articles, and adhering to the submitted paper template.
  2. Furthermorethe manuscript will be sent to at least three anonymous reviewers(Double-Blind Peer-Review)
  3. The anonymous reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses. Afterwards, the editorial team meeting suggested the final decision on the revised manuscript by the authors.
  4. Finally, the Editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.
  5. The accepted manuscript then continued to the copyediting and layout editing process to prepare the camera-ready paper.

Review Outcomes

Utilizing feedback from the peer review process, the Editor will make a final publication decision. The review process will take approximately 4 to 8 weeks. Decisions categories include:

  • Reject - Rejected manuscripts will not be published, and authors will not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version of the manuscript to Melek IT Journal.
  • Resubmit for Review– The submission needs to be reworked, but with significant changes, it may be accepted. However, It will require a second round of review.
  • Accept with Revisions - Manuscripts receiving an accept-pending-revisions decision will be published in Melek IT: Information Technology Journal under the condition that Minor or Major modifications are made. Revisions will be reviewed by an editorial team to ensure necessary updates are made prior to publication.
  • Accept - Accepted manuscripts will be published in the current form, with no further modifications required.

Correspondence

All correspondence concerning manuscripts should be directed to the Editor of Melek IT Journal and cc to melekit@uwks.ac.id. The Editor will direct all correspondence to the lead author; the lead author is responsible for sharing communications with other authors. Beyond communication concerning the review, manuscripts accepted for publication may require additional correspondence to complete copyediting and layout editing.

 

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)
Authors are NOT required to pay an Article Submission Fee.

Article processing charges (APCs) / Article Publication Fee: 200.000 (IDR)
This journal charges the article publication fee (with PayPal or Transfer processing fee, which is 6% of the amount) for supporting the cost of wide open access dissemination of research results, managing the various costs associated with handling and editing the submitted manuscripts, and the Journal management and publication in general, the authors or the author's institution is requested to pay a publication fee for each article accepted. The fee covers :

  • The standard of the first twelve (12) pages manuscript. For every additional page, an extra fee of 20.000 IDR per page will be charged. 
  • DOI registration for each paper.
  • Checking the article similarity by Turnitin; the final result will be sent to authors (by request).
  • Layout Editing according to template and journal standards.

The cost of a full edition hardy/print copy of the IT Literacy Journal is 300.000 (IDR) on Hardcover and 150.000 (IDR) on Softcover. This does not include shipping costs

A waiver or partial waiver of author fees may be decided by the editor in case of lack of funding, excessive length of a submitted manuscript, or other reasonable reasons provided by the author during the submission. The author should clearly declare that he asks for a waiver in the comments to the Editor box during their submission. A waiver is most likely to be denied if it is not asked at this stage. The waiver will have no effect on the review result.
