Design and Development of a Web-Based Internship Monitoring Information System with Location Tracking and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Features

Abstract
The Field Work Practice (PKL) program is a crucial activity for Vocational High School (SMK) students to develop competencies relevant to their fields of expertise. However, the PKL process faces challenges due to manual record-keeping and a reliance on logbooks for monitoring activities and attendance, resulting in performance evaluations that lack measurability. These issues lead to inaccurate data, ineffective supervision, and a lack of objectivity in student assessment. This research aims to design and develop a web-based PKL monitoring information system featuring location tracking and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The research employs the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology using the Waterfall model, encompassing requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The results demonstrate successful system implementation, with all features functioning correctly. Black Box testing confirmed the validity of all functions. The system improves GPS-based attendance accuracy, facilitates monitoring, and enables more objective KPI-based assessments.
