Design and Development of a Web-Based Grade Processing Information System with Auto-Generated Transcripts

Abstract
The advancement of information technology has encouraged educational institutions to integrate digital systems to support academic administration. SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya serves hundreds of students each year; however, grade processing and transcript generation are still carried out without an integrated information system. This condition leads to several problems, including recording errors, long service times due to queues, and difficulties in handling a large number of students during certain periods. As a result, academic administrative services become less efficient and may hinder students' academic needs. This study aims to develop a web-based information system capable of automating grade processing and generating academic transcripts through an Auto-Generate Transcript feature. The research employed the Waterfall software development model, which consists of the requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and publication phases. The results indicate that the developed system was successfully implemented and that all core functionalities operated according to the system requirements, as verified through Black Box Testing without any functional errors. The system is capable of automatically calculating student grades based on predefined curriculum weighting and generating academic transcripts in digital format that can be viewed, downloaded, and archived. In addition, the system provides academic monitoring and reporting features based on user access rights, making the grade processing and academic administration processes faster, more structured, and more efficient.
