Improving Higher Education Service Quality through the Design of a Web-Based Semester Evaluation Administration System Prototype for Applied Bachelor's Students

Abstract

The development of a web-based student semester evaluation administration system can assist in determining student evaluation status more efficiently and accurately, in accordance with applicable academic regulations at universities. The subject of this research is the Directorate of Undergraduate and Postgraduate Education at a state university in Surabaya. The objective of this research is to develop a prototype web-based student semester evaluation administration system for applied undergraduate programs that can calculate and evaluate academic data and then provide recommendations for student achievement in semester evaluation status automatically. The method used to design the web-based semester evaluation administration system is a prototype method, which includes defining objectives, determining functionality, development, and evaluation. System requirements analysis was conducted by analyzing service requirements, constraints, and system objectives through a documentation study of existing academic regulations and academic information systems, interviews, and field observations. The result of this research is the availability of a prototype web-based student semester evaluation administration system application at universities, specifically for students in the Applied Undergraduate program.
