Application of the Software Development Life Cycle Method to Optimize Attendance and Payroll Systems (Case Study: CV. Irfan Putera Sejahtera)

Abstract

CV. Irfan Putera Sejahtera is a company engaged in air conditioning service operations and employs several field workers. The main issue faced by the company is the lack of a centralized system for attendance and payroll management. Previously, employee attendance was conducted through voting in a WhatsApp group and manually recorded afterward. This method made it difficult to monitor attendance in real time, especially since field employees could not always check their phones. Additionally, the verification process was time-consuming and prone to errors due to the need to scroll through chat histories. This research aims to optimize attendance and payroll processes by developing a web-based information system using the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method. The SDLC phases applied include system requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was built using the Laravel framework and includes features such as user login, admin dashboard, time-based attendance, and automated salary calculation with report generation capabilities. The results show that the developed system successfully improves the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of attendance tracking and payroll processing. The system has been tested and used by the company for over a month with positive feedback from users. This research is expected to provide a digital solution that supports internal administrative efficiency, particularly within CV. Irfan Putera Sejahtera.
