DEVELOPMENT OF A WEB-BASED BU YAYUK CATERING ORDERING INFORMATION SYSTEM

Abstract
Bu Yayuk Catering faces significant operational constraints within its current conventional ordering system. The telephone-based ordering method imposes additional communication costs on customers, while on-site ordering proves inefficient due to protracted negotiations over menu items and pricing. Furthermore, the manual recording of transaction and report data poses risks of inaccuracy and complicates tracking processes. As a proposed solution, this study advocates for the development of a web-based information system designed to streamline the ordering process and enhance the efficiency of order data management. The system development follows the Waterfall methodology, encompassing the phases of requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Technically, the system is implemented using the PHP programming language with MySQL as the DBMS and is validated through black-box testing to ensure functional compliance. The outcome of this research is an integrated information system design featuring a digital menu catalog, an ordering module, and a transaction reporting module. The implementation of this system is anticipated to yield dual benefits: assisting the business owner in expanding marketing reach, providing structured menu information, and improving operational efficiency; while simultaneously empowering customers to independently place orders and conduct payment transactions without the necessity of a physical visit to the business premises.
